- Biography
- Katherine Stewart was a graduate research assistant with the Georgia Policy Labs. She is now the acting coordinator of data and accountability in the Office of Leadership Development and School Improvement at the Maryland State Department of Education. Her research focuses on the economics of education, utilizing quantitative, survey, and experimental methods. In particular, she is interested in teacher hiring and methods to improve the quality of the teacher pool. Her research has been funded by Georgia State University’s Center for the Economic Analysis of Risk. She was also a 2019 Dan E. Sweat fellow. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Georgia State University and her B.A. and B.S. from the University of Arkansas.
