- Biography
Za Eng Mawi is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at Georgia State University and a graduate research assistant at Georgia Policy Labs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgia Gwinnett College and a master’s degree in economics from Georgia State University. Her research interests include the economics of education, social mobility, and immigration. Inspired by her own experience as a Burmese refugee, she is currently working on research projects that investigate the integration of refugee students into the U.S. education system and the impact of charter schools on English Learners.
